Thumpity Thump
February 14, 2005
So apparently, I am totally pregnant. With a baby.
And yes, I totally cried when the technician told us "Happy Valentine's Day!" right after turning up the volume on that that glorious, 160-beats-per-minute little heartbeat.
YAY for thumpty-thump!!
could. not. be happier!

I'd be gagging myself with a spoon over the sentimentality of all this if it all weren't so darn cool.

And now, I am totally crying too!

Such an amazing feeling that is, when the room fills with the swooshing pulse that is a tiny little person's heart. Congratulations! What a Valentine's Day gift!

SO. Happy for you! Yay for pregnant thumps!

Best sound in the world, no?
Posted by: Amanda | February 14, 2005 at 06:40 PM
it's one of the weirdest little sounds in the world, but the very first time you hear it, you know you will never, ever forget it. there's probably not a stranger sound that results in a bigger smile! blessings all around!

You'll never forget that sound for as long as you live.

Mazel Tov. Before you know it you'll be changing diapers full of undigested corn, black beans and raisins.

So is Ceiba happy or mad that it didn't turn out to be a puppy that you're pregnant with?? And, speaking of which, have you broken the news to her yet?
Either way, many happy felicitations (or whatever that phrase from Charlotte's Web was) sent your way.

I didn't think anything would bring me out of my lurking lair, but I had to wish you the best over such great news. Congratulations!!!

Good thumping, Eraserhead! Keep up the good work!
We went for our "finding out gender" ultrasound on Valentine's Day with baby #2. Disgusting, isn't it? If I hadn't been so anxious to find out what it was (a "he") I would've scheduled it later just so people wouldn't think I did it to be cutesy.

Kudos to Eraserhead's heart! That? Is the beating of a lifetime. ;)

Congratulations. That's wonderful! And it looks like Eraserhead is being re-nicknamed. For the record? Eraserhead is funny, but I like Thumper much better. Again, congratulations!

Hey, I'm a first time commenter, but I've lurked before. Congratulations! Isn't that whooshing sound the best? I'm 18 weeks pregnant with my 3rd kid and still enjoy hearing that sound.
Have you had the endless stream of "How are you feeling?" and "Do you know if it's a boy/girl yet?" questions? I think they are standard issue.
