Posted by: Hilary | September 30, 2005 at 09:55 AM

I spent Thanksgiving Day in the hospital, in a delirious state caused by the pain of contractions and also the labor-stopping drugs. (I was early, but it all worked out.)

The only things I remember about that day were eating turkey loaf and seeing Shania Twain float by on a giant pumpkin. It was only later that I realized I had been watching the Macy's parade on TV.

I certainly hope you have much less scary memories of this day (and better food)!

Posted by: Pam | September 30, 2005 at 09:58 AM

Sign of the Rooster

These quick thinkers are practical and resourceful. This sign enjoys a keen attention to detail that makes it a whiz at anything requiring close analysis. Roosters make great lawyers, brain surgeons and accountants. Roosters aren't shifty or cagey and have no interest in hiding behind a facade. They are the proverbial open book, telling the truth and keeping their word.

Best wishes,

Okay, while Jason is cooing with Babalah and pampering Mamalah, and he keeps the rest of us waiting ... (the nerve) ........ I've been looking for some info to provide for the troops. Here it goes:

Famous Sept. 30 birthdays:
Johnny Mathis, Eric Stoltz, Truman Capote, and Fran Drescher. Perhaps Babalah will a crooing actor with some best-selling novels and wear hair extensions?

Also, if anyone is interested, this last week of September is:

National Chimney Safety Week,
Banned Books Week - Creating the Freedom to Read,
Minority Enterprise Development Week (which I realize won't apply, but thought I'd throw there).

Okay, Jason. Now, it's your turn!

Posted by: Melanie | September 30, 2005 at 02:24 PM

* sigh * I haven't left my 'puter all day. And I'm about to wear out the left clicker thingy on my poor long-suffering mouse.

Babalah, come out & play!

Posted by: kentucky_kitty | September 30, 2005 at 02:38 PM

Yay! I'm so excited for you! I suspect that when it comes to page views, you ain't seen nothing yet. I'll be back later.

Posted by: shokufeh | September 30, 2005 at 02:40 PM

YAY!! :) Congratulations! Now I'm wondering when "soon" is?!

Posted by: Mary Jo | September 30, 2005 at 02:44 PM

Internet siblings, let's not forget that it's not uncommon for first babies to take their time in appearing....For Amy's sake, I hope this isn't the case, but the rest of us may need to get a life (at least for a couple of days.)

Posted by: Christine | September 30, 2005 at 02:46 PM

I'm refreshin' with my full capabilities,
And now I'm livin' in correctional facilities...

Sorry can't get that song out of my head. Anyone got any tortilla chips? And salsa? This wait is killing me! Hey you, stop drinking all the beer! Pass that stuff around!

Hope everything is going well...

Posted by: Zoe | September 30, 2005 at 02:47 PM

STILL no baby. *sigh* My poor clicker is going to stop working...

Come out Babalah, tell us your name!

Posted by: Blissie | September 30, 2005 at 02:51 PM

How exciting! Gentle birth vibes to you, Amy. I can't wait to hear all about the new babalah foodie baby.

Posted by: sam | September 30, 2005 at 02:56 PM

*passing Zoe the chips and salsa*

I'm whipping up a batch of 'ritas. Anyone want one?
We'll save one for Amalah and Jason...they're gonna need it.

And...Christine? Yeah. Babies take their sweet time. siighhhhhhh.

We need some guacamole.

Posted by: baileyswedishfish | September 30, 2005 at 03:03 PM

So exciting! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all goes as planned!

Posted by: Tiffani | September 30, 2005 at 03:07 PM

I think we need to start a pool on how much the baby is going to weigh. 7 pounds two ounces is my bet!

Seriously, I am praying for you and yours. This is so freaking exciting.

Posted by: Whimsy | September 30, 2005 at 03:10 PM

Delurking to wish you well! Hope all goes smoothly and effortlessly for everyone concerned.
