The Big Fucking Sigh Of Relief

April 13, 2006

The breast lump is NOT CANCER.

I REPEAT: NOT. CANCER.

Still waiting on results from the uterine thing, but on the day of the surgery my mom's doctor was all, "Pfft. Is nothing. Is FINE." So I'm thinking we're okay there too.

There is still entirely Too Much Fucking Cancer out there, but for now, it's gotten the hell off my lawn. And for that, I am extremely happy.

Thank you so much, sweet Internet people, for your thoughts and prayers and crossed appendages during this scary time for us. I believe with all my heart that it made all the difference in the world.

OK Good Deal. Now I can quit sitting here refreshing.

Get Off My Lawn. HA! You really are very funny.

Hooray! We have been waiting for results. NO more refreshing. Yeah for your mom and your whole family!

Posted by: SortaBlonde | April 13, 2006 at 11:24 AM

I have to say, I think "DEAR CANCER: GET THE HELL OFF MY LAWN" would make a great t-shirt.

Posted by: Amalah | April 13, 2006 at 11:24 AM

Noah's all, "Hey Cancer, get the hell away from my grandmamalah!" and then he drooled all over Cancer and Cancer was defeated.

Posted by: Amy | April 13, 2006 at 11:24 AM

Amy, I think you have a future in the subversive cross-stitch industry.

So glad to hear that Nanalah is okay!

Posted by: Car | April 13, 2006 at 11:26 AM

Praise the Lord! I've been checking this thing for 24 hrs straight to see if its cancer! And YYYYEEEAAAAHHHHH! Its NOT!

Wonderful pic of Noah. He looks almost as happy as I feel. What's so weird is that I guess I've been living vicariously through your mom's test results, since I lost my own mom. So this is awesome, I think I'll have a chocolate sundae to celebrate. Then I'll get counseling because how in the world am I this caught up in the private life of a woman I wouldn't recognize if she bit me on the nose!

Posted by: Me | April 13, 2006 at 11:27 AM

Thank heavens! I am so relieved to hear everything is okee dokee. Let the celebrating begin!

And seriously, are you doing this to me on purpose? Everytime I see a pic of Noah, my ovaries start to explode. He's so full of delicious baby goodness.

Posted by: Kim | April 13, 2006 at 11:28 AM

Thank goodness! God Bless you all.

Posted by: Zoots Mom | April 13, 2006 at 11:32 AM

YAY is exactly what I was thinking. So glad for the good news.

Posted by: scoutsadie | April 13, 2006 at 11:33 AM

On another topic, in comparing how much Noah and you favor each other in the above picture, I noticed something:

DID NOAH GET A HAIRCUT?!?!?

His first?! And the internet wasn't notified?

Or maybe its just the way its combed. Either way, we need clarification on this issue asap. Thanks so much.

And have a great, cancer-free, drool-coated, day.

Posted by: Me | April 13, 2006 at 11:33 AM

YAY!

Posted by: Jenn | April 13, 2006 at 11:33 AM

Posted by: nic | April 13, 2006 at 11:34 AM

Oh that's wonderful news! I may have to have a 2 Amy's margherita pizza to celebrate!

Posted by: Bozoette Mary | April 13, 2006 at 11:35 AM

now you can BREATHE!

;)

Posted by: Sarcomical | April 13, 2006 at 11:37 AM

Yeah!! Take THAT, Cancer! Ha!

re: the Lamaze Toys vs. the Cheap toys - yes, indeed - the most expensive toys are the ones that the PARENTS are attracted to. Don't get me started on the Haba toys which I just adore. Of course, any company that sells wooden parsnips and chocolate croissants MUST be overpriced. Anyway, my kid loves his plastic keys, too.

Posted by: Cagey | April 13, 2006 at 11:38 AM

VERY HAPPY for you and mamalah!

Posted by: Maria | April 13, 2006 at 11:39 AM

Posted by: ThePajamaMama | April 13, 2006 at 11:43 AM

So relieved to hear that everything is okay!

Posted by: keepergirl | April 13, 2006 at 11:47 AM

Me: No haircut for baby. He just naturally has the world's most perfect hairline, which he most definitely DID NOT get from me.

Posted by: Amalah | April 13, 2006 at 11:50 AM

Noah is looking like such a little man in that picture!!!!

Posted by: alfredsmom | April 13, 2006 at 11:52 AM

Posted by: pea | April 13, 2006 at 12:01 PM

I think Noah single-handedly defeated cancer with his cuteness. I'm so glad your mom doesn't have cancer!

I think I might have a glass of wine to celebrate, myself.

Posted by: Megan | April 13, 2006 at 12:01 PM

Came here for the first time today from blackbelt mamma. My mom and I just went through the same thing.....hers was NOT. CANCER. Either. YAY! So I know the feeling of staring at the phone and now the feeling of relief YAY for both of us and our moms!

That is unbelievably good news..... enjoy your Easter with a lighter heart!

Posted by: Dorkette | April 13, 2006 at 12:25 PM

Woohoo! Maybe the good news bandwagon will keep on rollin' westward and my doctor will inform me that that lumpy-looking texture gradually spreading all over my outer thighs is really just Silly Putty! No? Nothing? Sigh...

Posted by: weaker vessel | April 13, 2006 at 12:26 PM

Hurrah!
