The Big Fucking Sigh Of Relief
April 13, 2006
The breast lump is NOT CANCER.
I REPEAT: NOT. CANCER.
Still waiting on results from the uterine thing, but on the day of the surgery my mom's doctor was all, "Pfft. Is nothing. Is FINE." So I'm thinking we're okay there too.
There is still entirely Too Much Fucking Cancer out there, but for now, it's gotten the hell off my lawn. And for that, I am extremely happy.
Thank you so much, sweet Internet people, for your thoughts and prayers and crossed appendages during this scary time for us. I believe with all my heart that it made all the difference in the world.

BRILLIANT! Oh, that's lovely. I'm so happy for you and your family. Thanks for letting us know, Amy.
So happy for you and your mom! YAY!
Yay!!!! Now go hug that kid extra tight. He'll be seeing his grandma for years to come!
Does your mom find it endearing or scary as all hell that there are at least 100 people who were waiting for those results and are celebrating the news along with her even though they have never met her? Just askin'. :)
So relieved!!! I have given myself blisters hitting refresh since yesterday! I'm so happy for you and your family!!!
Would it would too weird if I said that I just shed a few tears in relief?
Good news - no, GREAT news!
You go Nanalah! Suck it, cancer, no more grammas for you! Don't make me tell you again!
So, where are you going to go to celebrate??
I also think 'Suck it, stupid cancer' would make a best-selling t-shirt. Sign me up!
Triple yay! I'm so excited and relieved for you all. Wonderful news. :)
Am v v glad that your mom is okay.
I see that Noah is glad that grandma will hopefully be around to dance at his wedding.
So many good and relieved thoughts go your way. Also, for those who think Noah doesn't look like you, have you showed them THIS picture of him with that toddler picture of YOU?!
YEEEAAAAAHHHHHH!!!
I'm so glad its not cancer!!!! So was it just a cyst then?
I'm so happy for your mom!
YEAH!!!! That is wonderful news! So happy for all of you!
Hooray!
Oh yay!! I've been praying for ya'll constantly. ((hugs)) Take care momma and squish Noah for us.
Yay! Grand news - what a way to begin a nice long weekend!
Just wanted to echo everyone's warm sentiments. So happy for you and your mom.
good to know that people can still come out of these scares in one piece.
awesome news.
I am so glad for all you. Really, genuinely glad.
Sweet. [insert happy dance]
Noah's so happy to hear the good news that he's gurgling with joy, right? I'm so glad about your Mom, and I don't even know her, or you, but I'm still glad.
That is the greatest news.
So this is like really, really great news. I'm overjoyed for you and your family. Dammit, cancer, can you not SEE this adorable grandson? You got nothin', I tell ya, NOTHIN!
That is wonderful news! I am so happy for you and your family, maybe you can rest a little bit!
Note to self: Don't wait for Mozilla's "live bookmark" feature to, uh, like WORK. Hitting the old refresh key 975 times still gives better results.
I am so glad for you. I literally just found out today that my own mother found a lump. My dad had to tell me they are going for testing on Tues. (I had no idea)
Please pray for the same news!
Oh so good, Hopefully everything else will be ok as well...
Yay!!
Heartfelt round of applause. Yee-hah.
Whew. So glad things are going to be okay.
hooray!
Oh, so glad about the lump being not cancer, and could this boy be any cuter, I think not!
Good news! Begone cancer, I cast ye OUT! (You may begin speaking in tongues now.)
Good news; congrats.
And your son has a fine looking uvula.
That's the cutest photo I've ever seen!
Also, yay for your Mum. I totally meant to put that first. :)
Congratulations on such good news! Sighs of relief passed all around.

That pic of Noah looks so much like your photo up on the left it's crazy! So cute
Long time lurker( from Ireland) delurking to say
YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY so glad for you and your family xx
Wonderful news!
And the boy, he looks so...so like a Big Boy. You sure that's Noah at 6 1/2 months, and not some computer-assisted projection of what he will look like at, say, two years old?
Am so furckin pleased that all is OK. YAAAAAAAAY!
YAY! :) Glad to hear the good news!
WHOOT! That's awesome.
Your child looks positively gorgeous in that shot.
Great news! So exciting to see that this morning.
Hooray for not cancer. HOORAY.
Awesome news! My sister's uterine thing is also a non-malignant fibroid. Now we can really enjoy Zombie Jesus Day. Have a great weekend!
Glad to hear it!
Thank God! Congrats on Mamalah's health!
Happy Easter... am wishing you many chocolate bunnies and more happiness.
Indescribable happiness in the amalah family, I'm sure. I'm delighted for all of you and having had a C diagnosis (almost five years ago), the flip side isn't much fun.
YAY AMALAH'S MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great news!!
Anyone notice how much this picture of Noak looks very much like the picture of Amy at the top of her blog? Hmmmm? He is definitely her child!!
Thank. God.
THANK GOD!! That's the best news ever!! You must be so relieved!
SQUEEE!! yay amy, just yay :)
Such great news! I'm happy for your family.
And Noah- did you train him to do the same face that's in your picture? Or is that face coded in your DNA and passed down in your family?
Oh my god! (Good news! Yay!) But your pictures, and noahs! EXACTLY THE SAME!!! Wow!
YAY! for your mom! And I agree with Nienuh, you could have spit Noah outta your mouth, girl.
What cutie pie Noah said!!!!!!!!!!!!
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So fucking happy I could cry.
What incredible and joyous news!
As a sidenote, the photo of Noah displayed on this posting and the photo of you at the header portion of your website -- you're almost twins!
Oh such a huge sigh of relief from me to you! My darlin' dad died of cancer last month, he was only ill for 2 weeks, diagnosed on weds with liver cancer and died on the saturday. My heart hurts so much without him, I was hoping and hoping that your mom was going to be OK....hooray!! Noah looks like I know you must feel WHOOHOO!
So extremely happy for you!! Hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend filled with love and laughter! xoxoxox
PS: I'm sorry, but I continue to talk about you to people and make it sound like I know you...
YAAAAY!!!!!
I know I'm days and days late to the "G.T.F. Off My Lawn, Cancer"/Yeeeeaahhhh! for Nanalah Party - but I just wanted to say how glad I am that everything is a-ok over in the DC area. I think the Cuteness won over the C-word. My mom and aunt both had scary but nope, not cancerous lumps a couple of years ago at the same time - what a relief it is! Yeaaaahhhh!
That's fantastic!!!!!!!!
SO rad! And great!
And if your son doesn't stop growing exponentially in the cuteness department, he is going to melt the world.
Congrats! I'm glad that THAT part is over, here's to good news about the other test!
Best news of the week! Cancer can go shove it.
YAY!
Suck It, Cancer.
And you and Noah are twins on this page. Seriously.

I can't even imagine what this must be like for you guys. So happy that all is well!
And damn..that kid is cute. As always, thanks for sharing the pictures!
So happy to hear the good news about Nanalah.
Hugs to the little man.
So happy to hear your news. Rock on.
Thank goodness, what a relief!
Sending you all big hugs and wishes for a very Happy Easter.
Noah is quite the 'Little Man'!
I feel silly posting amidst almost 200 other posts. I usually feel too intimidated to even speak. But I guess I couldn't resist pointing out the darling likeness between Noah and a toddler Amalah-- excited, silly face with mouth wide open. You can really see the genetic connection when looking at those two pictures. Cute.
And, I'm so happy for your whole family finding out that your Mom is well... Hug her tight! :-)
yay!
and also, who looks exactly like mama?
could it be noah?
Yeah!!! (Wow, I can see right down little Noah's throat!)
Malia
yay! so glad it's not cancer!
1Ah bcfyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyg

1`qqqqqqqqqx KNNN,
That was Noah trying to say "thank you" to everyone who commented and emailed with happy congratulatory thoughts for the Nanalah. We've got to work on his typing skills, jeez.
I will update today - promise - right after we get back from the pediatrician's to check out Baby's First Ear Infection, because AWESOME.
Glad to hear it was nothing. Big Hugs for having to go through all this.
Not only would I buy that t-shirt but I would also buy a Suck it, Cancer! t-shirt. Especially if you put it on Cafe Press and sent the proceeds to breast cancer research....just a thought.
