Life is Boringful

July 09, 2009

Some days I can't think of a single thing worth writing about.

Some days, nouns and verbs and adjectives simply have nothing to add.

Some days, I simply won't forget.

Perfection.

Posted by: Jen. | July 09, 2009 at 02:22 PM

I love the ta-da face at the end.

Posted by: Kim | July 09, 2009 at 02:22 PM

Aw, so cute! I really like the look on his face when he's first in the water - "Oh, mama, it's cold!"

Posted by: Megan@Blueberry Scones | July 09, 2009 at 02:25 PM

Those pictures are the very definition of the beauty of summer.

Those pictures are the very definition of the beauty of summer.

Posted by: Stacy | July 09, 2009 at 02:29 PM

I don't know you guys but I LOVE that kid! (not to mention the little one!) Way to go with the great imagination and the smile that lights up the world!

Posted by: Diane | July 09, 2009 at 02:32 PM

I totally agree.

Posted by: jive turkey | July 09, 2009 at 02:32 PM

Oh pretty smart talented boy --- what an awesome day. Thanks for sharing.

Posted by: Elizabeth_K | July 09, 2009 at 02:35 PM

You know, I'm 40; and I have a day like that I still remember from when I was Noah's age. These are days he'll always remember and cherish too.

Posted by: Deanna | July 09, 2009 at 02:46 PM

We will all remember Noah's sweet smile and his utter joy--and Ceiba squatting in the second pic.

Posted by: Missie | July 09, 2009 at 02:51 PM

its the most simple things in life. this is why i LOVE spending lazy sundays in the backyard instead of doing STUFF.
wheres ezra?? aaron (10 mos) loved the slip n slide, crawling up and down in a low spray.

Posted by: obabe | July 09, 2009 at 03:00 PM

What an amazing day!!! It makes me long for my childhood and wonder how I turned into such a cranky adult.

Posted by: Hope | July 09, 2009 at 03:03 PM

i look at that precious boy jumping off of that chair with that incredible glowing grin on his face and i know he's going to be perfectly okay. even if he struggles a little for now, he's going to be fine. what an angel.

Posted by: denice | July 09, 2009 at 03:06 PM

Yay! :D That looks like oodles and tons of fun.

Posted by: Heather | July 09, 2009 at 03:10 PM

That last picture, it looks like he's saying "Tah dah!"

Tah dah, indeed.

Posted by: Jill | July 09, 2009 at 03:20 PM

Amen to summer scenes!

Posted by: Sprite's Keeper | July 09, 2009 at 03:22 PM

Hey that big boy ate your toddler!

The look on Noah's face is pure summer glee.

Posted by: MariaV | July 09, 2009 at 03:27 PM

Oh, how fun! Your backyard looks fun.

I used to love swimming in our backyard pool when I was younger, it's truly an essential piece of childhood!

Posted by: Parsing Nonsense | July 09, 2009 at 03:29 PM

Yes. Tah dah! is all that comes to mind.

Posted by: LPC | July 09, 2009 at 03:30 PM

What triumphant joy.

Posted by: Brenda | July 09, 2009 at 03:32 PM

And that is why I am thankful for my beautiful, boringful life :)

Posted by: Annemie | July 09, 2009 at 03:42 PM

I love the chair/diving board!

Posted by: Sadie | July 09, 2009 at 03:48 PM

I remember those days... they were so much fun!

I see the slide in the background just begging to be hooked over the pool... unless Noah is still leery of slides?

Posted by: Desi | July 09, 2009 at 03:57 PM

Oh that looks wonderful! Is Noah still not happy with slides? I saw the slide in the background and thought how cool it would be to hook it in the pool and make a mini waterslide for Noah..

Posted by: Desi | July 09, 2009 at 03:58 PM

The weather in DC has been just perfect for chair diving.

Posted by: Kailee | July 09, 2009 at 05:20 PM

Absolutely nothing in the world is as cute as a kid in a wading pool!

Posted by: Kathy | July 09, 2009 at 05:28 PM

I thought you got a pot-bellied pig but after a second look it's just your dog.

Posted by: Jess | July 09, 2009 at 05:57 PM

Fabulous pictures and definitely not boringful!

Posted by: Kristin | July 09, 2009 at 06:43 PM

Wow! That is so awesome.

Your comment policy says you don't scrapbook, so you should totally frame some of those and hang them on the wall.

Oh and send the series to his former preschool.

Posted by: Lady in a Smalltown | July 09, 2009 at 07:39 PM

Ahhh, if only an inflatable pool would be that fun to me again. sober.

Posted by: Natballs | July 09, 2009 at 08:29 PM

Stuff like this reminds me of the 10,000 Maniacs song "These Are Days" and always makes me tear up with happiness. :)

These are days you’ll remember
Never before and never since, I promise
Will the whole world be warm as this
And as you feel it,
You’ll know it’s true
That you are blessed and lucky
It’s true that you
Are touched by something
That will grow and bloom in you

who needs words???

Posted by: MommyNamedApril | July 09, 2009 at 09:24 PM

nope, no words would be enough here :)

Posted by: Bea | July 09, 2009 at 09:26 PM

It's summer, who needs to write? Great pics. Wouldn't it be nice to be a kid again, on summer break and playing in the pool? Good times.....

Posted by: MikeWJ at Too Many Mornings | July 09, 2009 at 10:00 PM

They made us take the diving board on our pool off when we bought this house for insurance purposes. I now realize I just need a chair. Why didn't I think of that?

Posted by: Kristine | July 09, 2009 at 10:57 PM

Who needs words, when you have such great photos!!!

Posted by: Maria | July 10, 2009 at 01:49 AM

Look at that face! Great pictures, Amy!

Posted by: April | July 10, 2009 at 02:05 AM

Posted by: Rachel | July 10, 2009 at 09:29 AM

Oops, said, not sais (sorry!)

Posted by: Rachel | July 10, 2009 at 09:29 AM

GREAT series of pics - what a story! It's too hot here (Houston) to even get in the pool. THAT is hot. Looks like a fun day!

Posted by: Amy | July 10, 2009 at 09:36 AM

wonderful pics! that's worth remembering for sure.

Posted by: Liz | July 10, 2009 at 10:28 AM

Nice to see that the $9.99 pool was so totally worth the trouble in the end. Beautiful pictures! :)

Posted by: Ivie | July 10, 2009 at 10:47 AM

Nothing wrong with using pictures to sum it up instead of words.

Posted by: AmyMusing | July 10, 2009 at 12:43 PM

well written!!

Posted by: lisa | July 10, 2009 at 02:03 PM

I have to ask since I can NEVER get my camera to take so many quick shots in succession to capture a moment like that - what kind of camera do you have?!

Posted by: Melissa | July 10, 2009 at 02:16 PM

That last is one of the cutest pictures of Noah I've ever seen.

Let me just say that I am SO, So, SOOO glad that you are the kind of person that can cherish a day like this. And that you share it. *hug*

Posted by: Della | July 10, 2009 at 02:44 PM

Sometimes pictures just say it all. And you're right. That boy is handsome and you are in so much trouble. ;-)
