Oh, Amy. I'm so sorry. I lost my father when I was 22. There will be days when you think you will never be normal again. You will be. You just breathe and you keep moving and you lay on the floor and cry when you need to lay on the floor and cry and, eventually, you do learn how to keep him with you and feel whole again.

I can promise you it will happen.

Until then, I hope you feel the support of the internet beneath you.

So very sorry. Wishing you so much peace and calm.

I don't know if you remember one of my earlier comments, about how my baby boy was born just one week after my grandfather passed, and how his birth somehow helped ease the pain.

Well, today - March 28th, the day you lost your father - is my boy's birthday. I have no idea if that means anything, but in my heart I find some peace in the whole "circle of life" concept. I'm wishing you some peace as well.

Amy,
I am so sorry you lost this very special person in your life. From the way you wrote about him I felt I knew him a little too, and it was obvious that he was a dear and important person to you and one of the first to inspire you to write.
You write beautifully, and you wrote beautifully about him.
