Doppy Urpdey

February 08, 2013

Below is an absolutely thrilling video, in which Ike sings "Happy Birthday." Only without any of the actual words...or the right melody...and also there's no cake.

But there is a candle and an excess of toddler confidence and ham-face, so...

Happy Friday! And no, I'm not paying royalties on that, suckers. It's a new original arrangement.

All that is needed is a *drops mic*

I absolutely love this role playing/reenactment of Mostly a Birthday, song and choreography composed by Toddlin' Ike! He couldn't be cuter!

Posted by: Call Me Jo | February 08, 2013 at 02:31 PM

Haha, it's been a rough few days around here (grrr for sick cranky toddlers and giving me their germs!) so I needed that ;) What a cutie!

Posted by: Carolyn | February 08, 2013 at 03:20 PM

Posted by: Claire | February 08, 2013 at 04:22 PM

was having an off day. I think this fixed that. Thank you for sharing!

OMG! He so totally loves you.

When my twin boys were toddlers, they really didn't play with each other at all until they were about 3-years-old. One of the very first games that they played together was "Birthday Party" where they would sit on the sofa with pretend presents and a pretend cake and sing "Happy Birthday" to each other. I almost fell over because they would barely talk to each other before that.

He is obviously beat boxing the birthday song....jeez

Posted by: Caroline | February 08, 2013 at 05:32 PM

So many of my birthdays ended as urpdeys. How long do we wait for the autotuned edition?

Posted by: Erika | February 09, 2013 at 08:38 AM

"Ffffffff. Ffffffff." Perfect.

That little guy of yours is delish!

AMY!!! I wanted to warn you because I'm thinking it was you who bought a 2011 Sienna right after we did. Right? Last night we got stranded in ours -- battery died. Not weather related, not things plugged in or left open related, just died when it should not have, and mine is just under 2 years old. I googled "Sienna battery" to look and see if I should know anything before blindly buying a new battery at Costco, but the first links that came up all had to do with 2011-12 battery problems. Ugh. There are two known problems, and although Toyota has yet to do a recall, they have Service Bulletin numbers and are a known issue. My 2011 van, bought spanky new in March 2011, had a vin that was before the cutoff of when they fixed it. Something to check out. Being stranded really sucks.

There should be a warning on this post...

WARNING: WATCHING VIDEO MAY CAUSE YOU TO DIE FROM THE CUTE.

Seriously. Dying. ;-)

Ha-ti burrday is still how I say it because of my own little cuties. Your kids are awesome.

Posted by: Cy | February 09, 2013 at 04:07 PM

I love the multiple blowings out of the candle...also that adorable leg hug at the end. What a cutie! :)

Posted by: Liana | February 09, 2013 at 06:59 PM

That was seriously cute! You are too gorgeous, Ike!

Posted by: Serina Tocock | February 11, 2013 at 03:50 AM

Interesting fact, "Happy Birthday" is in the public domain, so no need to worry about royalties ;)

Super cute.

Posted by: Marissa | February 11, 2013 at 10:32 AM

Love when he tries to blow out the candle, also when he tries to jam it into that candleholder so it'll stay put. And, of course, the "Up!"

Posted by: Nancy | February 11, 2013 at 01:47 PM

I like the "pfft, pfft" sound he's making for blowing out the candle. Good gods he's adorable!

Posted by: Elizabeth@Table4Five | February 11, 2013 at 05:20 PM

Adorable! So many things to love about the video -- the little voice, the button down shirt, the great paint color, the fact that the shirt and paint color blend really well, and the "up!" at the end.

I'm sorry, but how is your tiny infant son singing a song and pretending to blow out candles? He was just born!!!
