If The Beach House Is Rocking...
August 24, 2011
Oh, did I say something about posting more tomorrow? As in, yesterday, the day I did not post anything because...well, I don't know. Was busy.
OBVIOUSLY.
Planning on being similarly busy today as well, although we're leaving tonight because Noah has his kindergarten orientation (WHUT HELL NO) and Ezra needs school shoes (NOT MAH BABY) and Ike...well, Ike just kinda needs a bath.
I'm sure I could find an acceptably-sized sink to bathe him in around here, but...eh. I never claimed to not be completely ridiculous.
OBVIOUSLY.
PS. Yes, we totally felt the earthquake. I mean, poor Tracey did, since she was alone in the house and everything shook and wobbled like crazy and she ran out right when Ezra and I were returning from the beach for a potty break and was all, "Holy shit, earthquake!" and I was all, "Oh, I thought that was like, a truck," and Ezra was all, "I HAVE TO PEE AND SHE TRIED TO GET ME TO PEE IN THE OCEAN AND I HAVE BEEN POTTY TRAINED FOR WHOLE ENTIRE WEEKS NOW AND THEREFORE REFUSE TO PEE IN THE OCEAN BECAUSE I NOW SUDDENLY HAVE STANDARDS."
PPS. Yeah. It's pretty metal around here. OBVIOUSLY.
PPPS. I am mostly just really glad it wasn't a volcano.
I totally said to my friend Christina last night, "I wonder if Amalah is as afraid of earthquakes as she is of volcanos..." Glad it didn't rattle you too much (ha ha).

Beach!
I felt the quake all the way down here in Charlotte, NC as well. Freaky!
Um, I want to steal those turtle trunks. And the little man inside of them. Too cute!

I must have been hiding under a rock for the past half decade or so, because I JUST found your blog and have been reading it non-stop for the past week. I love it! I also have a blog (www.butidohavealawdegree.com), and I also live in the suburbs outside of DC. It looks like we frequent some of the same parks! In any event, this post made me laugh because we are also at the beach this week, and yesterday I tried to urge my 3 year old son to pee in the ocean. He looked at me like I was nuts, and refused. Of course, he then had an accident in the car ride home.

I totally thought about the volcanoes when the reports came in.
FTR, I am glad I no longer live in the MD/NoVa area, because as terrified of volcanoes you may be, I'm equally as scared of tornadoes and earthquakes.

I *wish* my kids were as sophisticated as Ezra. They're worse than my dog. Yesterday my son peed on a TARP that we use to cover our patio furniture. The day before, it was a swing set. *covers head with paper bag labeled "my kid didn't do it"*

What did you do with Baby Ike's legs???? Those shorts swallowed them whole! Glad to hear your vacation wasn't *totally* disrupted by earthquake.

You know, all your babies have been cute, but that new one? Absolute prototype of cute-ass baby. (Well, his face is cute. I don't know what his ass looks like.) Seriously, WHAT a doll!

Infants in swim suits are adorable, even if it is a little ridiculous (says the woman who had three sets of trunks for her may baby that first summer).

Still not sure how you do it with three kids!!! But you do awesome, and I understand about the bath. I figured the pool counted for my kids when I was on vacation.

Don't worry, soon Ezra will be thrilled to pee in the ocean (and probably everywhere else too). My daughter (who is now 6) was exactly the same way.
Ike = Yummy bay-bee!

No offense to Ike (who is adorable in his little swim trunks!), but that is one awesome photo triptych of the mighty Zah!

I am ded from the cuteness of Ike's outfit. And Ezra's face.

A volcano would kinda suck.
I love the beach. Hate the sand in the car, but love the beach. Have a BLAST.

Ezra is the cutest little boy who ever lived. Sorry I'm not more impartial.

Wow that's what I want to do at the beach. Bury my head in the sand and sleep in some over the top swim trunks. Thanks for sharing and giving us a laugh.
