Baby vs. Ocean
August 20, 2012
We're back. Back to real life and all the procrastinating that comes with it (laundry! school orientations! haircuts! who needs shoes/pants/respectable-looking-underwear/etc.), which means oh hi look I got you some baby pictures.
Much like McKayla Maroney, Baby Ike is not impressed. Nice try, Delaware. But I've been to Aruba.
Whoa. That was kind of a thing.
(And! Then!)
ERMAHGERD
AH MAH GAH
Bring it, ocean.
And that's how Baby Ike spent his summer vacation. Just like that, over and over and over again, I don't care if you're tired and want to sit down, keep me in the magic water place with the squishy floor all day.
LOVE!!

That. Is awesome! LOVE the first one, esp with commentary and the whole series is just full of win. Baby Ike is the awesomesauce!

The cute is to die for!

That's how you wind up with sand ass because you get tired enough and sit the hell down when the baby refuses to get out of the ocean. Or put down the Wii remote. Whichever.

You did well there! My youngest first saw the sea aged 2.5 yrs, in the middle of winter, with a stinking cold at the time. The beach was quite steep and he rushed headlong in (winter coat with hood, gumboots) up to his neck in about 2 seconds flat and was dragged out kicking and screaming in fury to be taken away and dried out. We all survived however - he's 41 now!

Love him! And he's looking more and more like Ezra everytime :)

Mine discovered the water this year. Now as soon as I turn my back to put the blanket down, she sprints towards the ocean and the waves. (We live in Santa Cruz. We gots waves.)We play, I turn to say something to the other kid, she heads out of the ocean. Jr. Guards, here she comes.

I don't think you'll ever hear complaints here about posting (freaking adorable) baby pictures on a Monday morning. I can practically hear the baby giggles!

There is nothing better than that moment right there that you've captured.
My toddler gets the same expressions at the beach (and also when she's tickled until she pees)

He is so cute! I always love to see what Baby Ike is doing because he's the exact same age as my daughter (and Ezra is the exact same age as my son :) ). That was pretty much her reaction to her first ocean trip last week, too!

The whole of the NL spent the weekend crowded at the most known beaches, we went to Huisduinen. There is no beach with dunes but a very big dike. Below the dike there are breakwaters with regular intervals and in between stretches of sand. So my kids had the same face as baby Ike. Just because of being able to search for crabs, starfish and catching shrimps with their bare hands. And when kids have that face it makes all OK. Great story. And now back to two more weeks of holiday..

Baby Ike's face in this series is the best thing I've seen on the internets in days! And you rock the photo series with dry funny commentary. Looove your commentary.
