If you listen to President Trump's speech, you'll hear him say that there is no room for prejudice. But I guess the protesters will only hear what they want to hear.
Hey, Amy! This is a totally funny response because when *any* of my Autistic students would tell me 'good-bye' for the day they would always say, "SEE YOU TOMORROW!" And, yeah, I WAS ALWAYS THERE!! LOL Love you and your blog and everything you are doing to KEEP it REAL! Mommy Bloggers RULE! 2017 for the WIN! Keep writing!!!
Have your best weekend ever and be sure to see Tracey and Charlie!
Why can't we all just move forward...march for poverty, the homeless...the newly installed president? It's over. Did you see all the crap that ended in violence? In destroying a Starbucks...get a life.
Marched in Orlando FL. The women's marches ARE marches for poverty, for homeless, for minorities, and for oppressed groups everywhere. If you think their (OUR) futures aren't inextricably tied to the new president you haven't been paying attention.
Not a bit of violence in the city of Omaha's march but lots of us were shouting "thank you" to the police. There were no arrests in Washington, D.C. from what I read. No one tore up a Startbucks or any other such thing. We marched for choice, dignity, right to practice our faiths, and to express that the man who is currently the president of the USA is not a good person, even if he is president. Because being president doesn't erase your character flaws. Likely, it will magnify them. I personally marched because I want quality public education as an educator and as a parent. I want to be respected as a person who does not believe in God but respects those who do. I want quality healthcare for all, despite having decent coverage thanks to my strong teacher's union. Mostly, I don't want my boys growing up to think the current president is a role model. I have to voice my dissent.
As a black woman who married a white man and have a multicultural baby, THANK YOU! There's no moving backwards and our morality is nothing to "get over" or "move on with." #NaysayersBuhBye
So proud of you. And agree with Nikki. I can't just get on with it or get behind this guy. I don't see how any woman can. How do you legitimize bragging about sexually assaulting women? How do you condone him calling his own daughter a piece of ass and he would like to date her? How do you legitimize any of the ranking and shaming and just plain disgusting misogynist behavior? I can't. But then I think maybe in these women's families, the ones saying Grow Up and Get a Life, rape and molestation IS normal. Maybe that is their normal and they don't understand why the rest of us are up in arms about it. Maybe their fathers molested them and they married men who brag about sexual assault and they remain silent while their husbands sexualize their female children. So I feel sorry for them. How else to explain looking the other way on this behavior?
No matter how much someone learns in life there are always going to be things they don’t know about. That is part of life and is something that one simply has to accept. That doesn’t mean that learning is therefore futile.
It is simply part of being human and not something do deny or to cover up. And without this pressure, learning can be something that one enjoys; instead something one feels they have to do. Calm down and keep an open mind.
I'm on kid duty tomorrow, but I'll be there in spirit! Rise up, people. Rise up.
