Friday Foto Dump (NOW ON A MONDAY!)

(I put this post together on Friday morning and then...just...forgot to hit the publish button? And then I checked my Facebook notifications later that night and was like, damn, nobody had anything nice to say about Ezra's costume? WOW, OKAY THEN. But no, I'm an idiot who has only been at this blogging thing for SIXTEEN HECKING YEARS and still does dumb shit like that. Anyway, enjoy this blast from the past of Late Last Week!)

I was right! Ezra was a DJ. (Specifically a DJ character he created in Roblox called "DJ Joey the Redstone Rapper." SURE OKAY I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND ALL OF THOSE WORDS GOOD GOING SON.)

He built a strap-on turntable, complete with amps, spinning records and a headphone jack..

It was a HUGE HIT at school. Everyone thought it was amazing.

It held up great all day, but unfortunately started shedding parts almost the minute we walked out the door for trick-or-treating, so he missed the group photo. I could only hold these homicidal manics back from the candy for so long, you know.

(You can see the last minute repairs going on inside just behind ALL UR NIGHTMARES.)

Here's Noah in a more wholesome context carving a pumpkin. (He carved a perfect copy of the pumpkin that appears in the opening credits of the original Halloween movie. because of course he did.)

Ezra carved...a bat? I think? He had fun but plans to stick with his preferred medium of Amazon boxes for now.

Ike "carved" a pumpkin as well, by which I mean he selected a stencil and then wandered off while I did all the work. But since he's the one child who doesn't thoroughly inventory his candy at the end of the night, that was fine, I gotz paid for my efforts in the end.

Happy Halloween Hangover Day, everybody!

Ezra's costume IS amazing!

Love their costumes! My little guy (age 7) was a DJ too and I loved his creativity and willingness to make his costume just like Ezra's! Great work, Storches!

Alana

This is seriously the best ever. I think I’m going to be a dj next year, and I’m 38 damn years old.

Rebecca

I carved that pumpkin just like Noah at ye olde pumpkin carving party last week! My 13 year old son insisted on it. All the olg geezers at the party were like "you're a grown up, why does your pumpkin look like a six year old carved it?" To which I said "thanks- that means it's perfect!" Noah's is way better.

Kate

Ezra did a wonderful job (and I love the Maryland flag glasses).

Dori

So creative! Good job, Ezra!

Kate

So impressive and the fact that he came up with an original idea and executed it himself!! Wow!!

Evelynne

I have been waiting ALL WEEKEND to see what Ezra's costume was and IT DOES NOT DISAPPOINT!!! That is absolutely fantastic. I wish I had an ounce of his creativity.

Anna

That turntable is amazing!

Ezra's DJ costume and repurposed Amazon box was amazing! Thanks so much for sharing it.

Amy, I fan-girled so hard Saturday night because I saw you and Jason leaving the Hippodrome after Randy Rainbow!! My friend and I had driven up to Baltimore that day for the show and when we passed a sign for your city, I started telling her about you, how I’ve followed your blog for about 10 years and how much I love your boys even though I know them only from the blog. Then, after the show we were standing on the corner awaiting our Uber and I saw a tall handsome man walking our way. I couldn’t place why he looked so familiar —-until I saw you behind him!! I was so excited, I was speechless. Anyway, just wanted you to know that seeing you there—in person, just normal people enjoying life—made my night!!
